Customer Questions

Read Complete Questions & Answers | Ask a Question

9/8/2018 – If I get the magnetic key option, will I be able to purchase an rfid for later use?

Response From TACTICAL WALLS: Unfortunately, there is no way to convert from one lock type to the other.

3/8/2018 – Is the raw wood truly raw and stainable to match existing decor?

Response From TACTICAL WALLS: Our “Raw” finish is truly raw and ready to accept stain for the purpose of matching your home decor.

2/3/2018 – Are the guns in the picture included ?

Response From TACTICAL WALLS: No. We strictly sell furniture, home decor, and mounting systems. Each product description has a concise list of what is included with your package. Please refer to the description to see exactly what is included with your item.

1/18/2018 – I’m limited in where I can install the mirror and it needs to go in an exterior wall. We live in New England. Has anyone installed this in an exterior . . .

Response From TACTICAL WALLS: Hi and thanks for the question. We solely recommend using our concealment mirrors and wall inserts on interior walls. It is sized to perfectly fit between two standard 2″ x 4″ stud framed interior wall.

1/9/2018 – I am limited as to location for installation of the 1450RFI solution. I have a location that will allow the mirror to slide to the left of the frame. I . . .

Response From TACTICAL WALLS: Thanks for the question! I just measured a 1450 in our show room and obtained the following info. From the leading edge of the frame side when closed to the same edge when the unit is open as far as possible is 18 1/4″.

1/6/2018 – How much weight can the wall insert take for the additional purpose of storing ammo? Or can it just be further supported from the bottom?

Response From TACTICAL WALLS: Thanks for the question. The inserts are screwed into the sides of studs and the material is incredibly strong. They can handle the weight of just about anything you can fit in it, including your boxes of ammo.

1/1/2018 – Sir /Ms,

Can a wrist band style RFID be programmed and used on the locks?

Thanks

Response From TACTICAL WALLS: For our RFID units, we offer key cards and key FOBs. The RFID locks used in our products work in the 125kHz range. There are many different key options available for purchase on the internet (such as rings, bracelets, and stickers). As long as you choose an option that . . .

12/26/2017 – Can you get rfid bracelets for the locks on shelves?

Response From TACTICAL WALLS: There are many other types of RFID products available for sale on the internet. If you choose to purchase other products, such as rings or wrist bands elsewhere, make sure you purchase keys that use 125kHz antennas. NOTE: The smaller the RFID key, the more precisely . . .

12/6/2017 – Who would you get to help install this that is reputaable from a security standpoint and can handle do this without damaging things?

Response From TACTICAL WALLS: If you are not comfortable with all of the steps required to install this product yourself, we recommend hiring a licensed, bonded, and insured contractor to install it for you. Thanks for the question.

12/6/2017 – Is there a backup method for entry if RFID battery dies?

Response From TACTICAL WALLS: The battery is good for 30,000 lock cycles, so that should take a while. The lock will repeatedly chirp if the battery starts to die. If nothing changes, it will eventually default to open. No backup, so we recommend keeping the programming card and a spare key in a . . .

12/4/2017 – Does this mirror go in the wall or outside?

Response From TACTICAL WALLS: The secret compartment of the mirror fits right between your 16″ on center studs (inside the wall). The subframe and the mirror itself hangs on the wall (outside). This way, it looks just like a mirror hanging on your wall, disguising hidden storage behind it. This . . .

12/1/2017 – If we order multiple items, can the rfid be coded the same so we don’t have to have different fobs/cards? Thanks

Response From TACTICAL WALLS: You can pair 50 locks to one key. If you order our RFID products, you receive 2 pre-programmed keys and 1 programming card. Use the programming card to pair more keys to that unit. You can have master keys paired with all lock. To watch a Demonstration of this process . . .

11/26/2017 – When the door slide to the side how close is it to the wall itself? I have a door casing a few inches from the spot I want to put an insert. When the door . . .

Response From TACTICAL WALLS: The side frame slides with the mirror, so there is almost no space between the mirror frame and the wall. It will not clear a 1/2″ deep door casing. You might consider sliding it the other way by turning the unit upside down, if that is a possibility. Thanks for the . . .

11/25/2017 – Can the unit be configured with a mirror that slides to the left? All the photo’s I’ve seen and even during some of trade shows we’ve only seen it opening . . .

Response From TACTICAL WALLS: The unit is exactly the same top to bottom. In order to make the unit slide left, simply turn it 180 degrees before fastening the subframe to the wall. If it is RFID locking, the lock will be in roughly the same spot. If it is magnetic, the lock will be on the bottom. . . .

11/23/2017 – What is the rough opening needed for this item?

Response From TACTICAL WALLS: The rough opening that is required for the 1420M is 14 1/2″W x 21″H. The insert goes between your 16″ on center studs, so you cut a 21″ tall opening stud to stud.
